SWAN Shipping Corporation (or Swan) was established in May 1995. It has since served as the shipmanagement arm of its parent company, the Southwest Maritime Corporation (SWMC), which was founded by an icon of the local shipping world – Filipino businessman, Mr. Arben Santos. It was originally a joint venture between Southwest (SW) and Navix Line, thus the name SWAN.
Swan specializes in the management of gas carriers, particularly the fully-pressurized and semi-refrigerated ones. It also has an extensive experience in managing product tankers plying the Philippines domestic trade and, for a short period of time, fully-refrigerated gas carriers in the international trade.
Swan provides its technical services, mostly, to shipowners based in Japan and Singapore. And in the first quarter of 2020, a Philippines-based company has joined the list of the shipowners who put their trust with Swan.
Swan is also very proud to announce that from 2016, it remains to be an approved ship management company for term business by one of the “supermajors” in the oil and gas industry, SHELL.
